January 15th, 2008 Gediminas Gelgotas has become a member of the world's second largest international organization uniting young and active people, JCI (Junior Chamber International), and a lecturer in its program School of Success. Gediminas delivers seminars on leadership, devotion to art and ability to work following one's inner motivation for young Lithuanian musicians. July 15th, 2007 Gediminas Gelgotas' New Ideas' Chamber Orchestra NICO had a successful performance at its first concert tour in Russia. It gave four concerts in Russia's major cities - Moscow and Saint Petersburg. The concerts were delivered on the occasion of the Coronation Day of King Mindaugas, July 6. The orchestra received a number of various invitations for concerts in the following year. December 22th, 2006 Gediminas has been awarded an acknowledgement of Lithuanian Prime Minister for successful creative activity and spreading the name of Lithuania. August 22th, 2006 Gediminas became a diplomant in an international pianist contest Music Without Boarders in Druskininkai (Lithuania). July 16th, 2006 Gediminas became a laureate in the International

This is the first CD of the works of a composer and performer Gediminas Gelgotas. Here you can find two latest pieces of the composer: String quartet with oboe (composed in December 2005), Piano Trio (composed in April 2006), and a few piano improvisations. This CD is the result of the creative activity of the first studying year at LMTA as well as an enthusiastic cooperation of course-mates and former classmates. The first performers of String quartet with oboe and Piano Trio, Augusta Jusionytė, Diana Moisejenkaitė, Jurgis Juozapaitis, Giedrius Žukauskas, Emilija Žukauskaitė and Justė Gelgotaitė, did not only record this CD but also performed the pieces for several times in various concerts and included them into their repertoires. |
